People are being asked to avoid the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard as an investigation into a shooting unfolds.
A spokesperson with Lakewood Police confirmed that one officer was shot and killed and three others were injured in a shooting with a suspect on an RTD bus Thursday.
The suspect was killed in that shooting, and one other civilian was injured.
Meanwhile, a procession is forming along Speer Boulevard outside Denver Health. Denver7 crews also saw Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas outside of the hospital.

The shooting took place west of Sloan Lake along Colfax Avenue.
Denver7 has learned the incident in question took place on an RTD Denver bus, according to an RTD spokesperson. Exact details on what happened have not been released yet.
RTD is deeply concerned by the shooting that occurred this evening aboard an RTD-contracted operated bus servicing Route 76 in Lakewood. Our thoughts are with those affected directly by this incident. The safety and well-being of our customers, employees and partners remain our highest priority. RTD personnel responded to the incident immediately and are fully cooperating with the Lakewood Police Department as it conducts its investigation.
